Super Yacht OCTOPUS stalled at Beechey Island - WHATS UP?

20130920 UPDATE:

OCTOPUS is finally underway and undoubtedly with guests because they are cruising east along Devon Island and have anchored in several of historic bays. Where is the super rich heading - East to Greenland or West to Alaska?

West has ice choke-points while east is open with BIG seas...

Check back for updates...

Super Yacht OCTOPUS departed Resolute Bay on the 14th then anchored later that day at Beechey Island. Here it is today, 16th September and OCTOPUS remains at anchor after the CCGS AMUNDSEN departed Beechey Island anchorage early this morning. Ship, crew, guests or ice blockage problems?

Comments please.

Could this super yacht be delayed departing the Arctic by ice choke-points?

OCTOPUS finally weighed anchor from Beechey Island today the 17th and moved to Resolute Bay. Waiting for a schedule meeting with an icebreaker? Stay tuned for updates...

OCTOPUS moved back from Resolute Bay on the 18th to Beechey Island - I think this qualifies as the shortest and most expensive cruise. Now that it has been determined that the CCGS AMUNDSEN's three persons died from up to an hour of in-the-water hypothermia after the helicopter crashed without sending a radio MAYDAY to the AMUNDSEN, I dare say that the OCTOPUS helicopter is seeing very little use except from the yacht to the airport and back with guests. No extensive over water exploring or sight-seeing.

The Octopus has arrived and left Pond Inlet today. After much helicopter activity from ship to shore & airport, she headed out through the east entrance. Where is she heading?

Tried to call Paul but no answer - must be "out-of-town". Bottom line - not going west to Alaska. I dare bet she is heading for the Caribbean this winter. Then through the Panama Canal sometime in the future?
