Arctic Alaska Coast - east winds mean sailing downwind... Yahoo! But pay attention to the heavy freezing spray warnings - OUCH!

Four vessels are currently thankful for those rare east winds while transiting west over the top of Arctic Alaska. East winds means sailing downwind, down swell... but there are warnings for heavy freezing spay offshore - watch the rigging close - keep those baseball bats and fishing billy-clubs handy... consider a near shore route early.

And just when you thought this leg of your NWP might be a home run - here comes FOUR more low press systems... the Northwest Passage is going to live up to her reputation.

185 full NW Passages by just 135 vessels in 161 years since discovery.

Enjoy every sandwich!
